‘Do Not Eat’ Warning Issued in Urgent Recall of Popular Snack Bar

Published On:

A food safety warning has been issued for several flavours of a popular snack bar after concerns that some products may contain small pieces of plastic, making them unsafe for consumption.

The UK’s Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised consumers not to eat the affected bars and to return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

The recall affects four flavours in Lidl’s snack bar lineup:

  • Cocoa & Orange
  • Blueberry Muffin
  • Salted Caramel
  • Berry

The impacted products carry the batch codes L24316 and L24337, with best before dates in November and December 2025.

Lidl confirmed that no other items in its Alesto range are involved in this recall. In a public statement, the retailer said:

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their cooperation. For more information, please contact Customer Care at customer.care@lidl.co.uk or call 0203 966 5566.”

The FSA issues food recalls when safety concerns arise, such as contamination with foreign objects or harmful bacteria. These warnings are aimed at preventing illness and injury among consumers.

This is the latest in a series of food safety alerts issued in recent weeks. Tesco was recently forced to recall Castelli UK’s Le Superbe Raclette cheese slices due to the presence of Listeria Monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause flu-like symptoms and pose serious risks to vulnerable groups including pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems.

In another case, customers of Tesco and Morrisons were urged to return Giovanni Rana La Famiglia Rana Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne, which may have been accidentally packaged with a prawn and lobster variant, posing a risk to individuals with seafood allergies.

The FSA also regularly releases allergy alerts when products are mislabelled or contain undeclared allergens.

Customers are encouraged to stay informed about the latest food recalls and take prompt action when necessary to ensure their safety.
